Gjalt Huisman was born in 1973 in Steenderen (the Netherlands) and used his father's camera equipment untill 1984 when he bought his own 35mm SLR-camera. Completeley self educated in photograpy he graduated at Groningen University in business administration in 1998 and worked for 5 years as an IT manager. Combining the power of computers and networks on the job with photograpy as a hobby has resulted in lots of cool stuff at work for presentational puposes.

In 2002, after several holiday's in Europe and Africa, Gjalt changed his working life for a life of travelling and photographing people, architecture and landscapes around the world. After Spain and Uganda he has visited Russia, Mongolia, China, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaisia and Singapore. The next big adventure in 2003 was a kind of "Paris-Dakar-rally" from Europe through the desert area's in Morocco and Mauretania to Senegal en Gambia and back to Europe again. 

The last ten months Gjalt's been taking pictures around the world in Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific, USA and Mexico.
